The War of the World was a major conflict instigated by a version of Dr. Robotnik on a possible future Mobius. As a result of it, the planet was rendered uninhabitable for some time, forcing the native Mobians to migrate to other planets, where they eventually evolved. Products of this evolution included the Shark, the Brass Knuckles race, and the individual members of the Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy. Additionally, Sonik was apparently jettisoned from Mobius during this conflict, eventually returning to the planet centuries later. (StH: #103, #104)
