Redirects

If you want to format links in the articles, it would look like this for example [[Mazuri]]. You simply put the square brackets around the word you're linking to, with no spaces between the word and the brackets. That should work. - Dimitri the Echidna 02:29, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Adminship

Not really, though some do get rollback priviliges first. Adminship is a very serious duty and not to be taken lightly. You are responsible for the deletion of articles/images and the banning of other users. ME is very different from any other wiki due to its rules, but from what I've seen, what you gotta do is give as much dedication as possible to making this wiki as good as is possible for you. Monitor pages for vandalism, make good articles, improve bad articles, and report in rule-breakers. But... Dimitri may just take you on for your spirit. It isn't up to me, it's up to Dimitri, although I do have the same role in SNN as he does. Administrators can back other up for administration. Making new admins is to the bureaucrats (Dimitri), and also who to make fellow bureaucrats. If you wanna go for it, then do so. He may not take you in now, but if you improve in the future, which I think you will, then he'll definitely make you ad admin.Fairfieldfencer FFF 22:05, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Another thing that would help your editing is actually buying the comics. The work you've done without them is OK, but if you're going to make articles relating to the comics, you need to know what you're talking about in full. At this point in time we really don't need any more administrators. Fairfieldfencer and I go over the site daily for vandalism and reviewing the edits made to articles per day. We currently have three administrators (sysops) and one bureaucrat - myself. Since this website is sort of my pet project I won't be promoting anyone to the rank of bureaucrat, though if the site gets even busier we might need another sysop. If your edits adhere strictly to this site's Manual of Style, you're on the site often enoughand, and I feel you're up to it - you might get promoted. There's also the "rollback" promotion which allows you to roll back changes to a previous version. Not that I know of. Any other's would be posted up, I imagine. This is just the result of someone being lazy or too busy. The preview pages aren't put on the website until a week before the issue is released in specialty shops usually. The URLs are usually the same except for an issue number change. It is weekly, or it used to be. Ian's shut it down since the questions were getting repeative, and he didn't have enough time to do it anymore. Febraury last year, hedid a Q&A where you could ask the characters questions, though the answers were not considered to be canon. I made a topic the same as the Febraury one. And no, nothing on it was official. Hell of a riot though. Fruitcake gags and memes as far the eye coud see. And believe me, you don't wanna know about the fruitcake. I'm just trying to point out that YouTube changes its features like every few weeks and although it's a pain, YouTubers adapt and soon grow adapted. Maybe the admins should try out the skin wikia's going to be enforcing for a few days and see what its like. Find out if you guys can adapt. I tried it once when I was forced into it. Was a pain, but I eventually got it nailed down. Monkey Khan

Regarding your edit (since the talk page would have likely gone unnoticed), you mentioned "Crown was broken and replaced with Power Ring, so I don't think the crown is relevant to his powers." Khan's original crown was made from a power ring, and he later magically altered the new ring into a new crown the same way. Sonic only came up with the idea of getting a new ring because, as he and Sally remembered, Khan made the first crown from a ring. So... I'm not sure what you're getting at. RE: Featured User Interview

1. Q) If a new Sonic movie were to be made, what would you want for the plot?

A: I personally would like something serious and full of adventure and twists, kinda like what's seen in SatAM, Archie Sonic and Fleetway's Sonic the Comic. Having said movie in multiple parts would be nice, since it'd allow the developers to do a lot more than they could with just one big video.

2. Q) Boys vs. Girls of the Sonic series: Who do you think would win?

A: Not sure. Gender doesn't mean much to me as much as overall skill and intellect/cunning. If one gender has more characters who possess these qualities over the other, then I think they'd be the winners. Without mastery power is nothing, after all. Even the strongest of opponents can fall to someone who's more skilled and smart than they are.

3. Q) What do you think would be the least-fitting genre for a Sonic game?

A: Horror, no doubt. Even if there was no gore or foul language of any kind present, I couldn't see Sonic Team making a Sonic game in the horror genre. It'd pulverize the franchise's overall presentation of being something of a children's franchise much worse than any other genre could, in my honest opinion.

4. Q) Sonic meets Halo. Your reaction?

A: "Somebody shoot me with an Assault Rifle. Or the Master Chief. Or the guy/chick who ordered the Master Chief to travel to Sonic dimension to do God knows what. Whatever you do, don't let these two meet". This would be my basic reaction. Seriously, Halo? Regardless of what you think of Halo itself, if an official crossover between Sonic and Halo were to happen I honestly don't think it could be handled well. The two franchises are so radically different from one another that having the two meet and expecting to get positive results just seems like a pipe dream no matter how you look at it, logically. Mario would make more sense because it's Sonic's rival franchise and Mario has the same general target audience as Sonic, so I'd feel more confident about a game like that being made (not counting the Olympic Games series) than a Halo crossover. Even NiGHTS would be better than Halo.

5. Q) As a 'crat, what do you want to see on the wiki?

A: Higher quality articles, rules & standards, and a community that continues to get along smoothingly. Pretty basic, I know, but my ambitions for this Wiki in the long-run are quite simple, so I think that a simple answer would suffice.

6. Q) What's your least favorite aspect of the wiki, programming/functionality-wise?

A: Honestly? I don't know. I can't think of anything.

7. Q) Do you think Sonic News Network is lacking anything?

A: I think the comics media could use some more love and attention. Especially Archie. Even though plenty of attention is given to the games media, Sonic News Network is a Wiki that desires to thoroughly cover all Sonic media, so I think that spreading some of the love our game-related articles get to other articles of various medias around the site would be nice.

8. Q) What would you think of an actual Sonic board game?

A: Not sure, actually. Depends on how it plays. Although since board games in general aren't exactly speedy, I don't think that creating a Sonic board game that is fast-paced and fun to play would be easy. Aside from that, I think most people would probably only want to play the video games rather than a board game, so the board game in question might not sell well anyway, even if it is good. But alas, you never know until you try.

9. Q) What other video game mascot do you think is most like Sonic?

A: Um... I don't know. I'm pretty sure I know of at least one, but I can't think of anyone. I suck.

10. Q) What would your reaction be if a fan-made character (of good quality) made it into Sonic canon?

A: Depends on if it's a fan character I can like or not, along with most other Sonic fans. But since there are people out there who dislike/hate fan characters in general despite their actual overall quality because they are what they are, then there's a good chance that such a character would get a sizeable "hatedom" no matter how good a character he/she/it actually is. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if a Sonic fan character did make it into actual canon for whatever reason and a hatedom were to form over it simply for that reason. Sooo, it is probably for the best that any new characters that are introduced to the Sonic canon be made by someone who actually works with the actual, official Sonic material: Games, comics, TV Shows, movies, etc.
