Tig Stripe was a former colonel and a Mobian tiger in the Royal Army and leader of the Original Freedom Fighters. After Dr. Ivo Robotnik successfully pulled off his coup, Stripe and a group of other veterans came together to form the first band of Freedom Fighters that would encourage the likes of the future Knothole Freedom Fighters, who continued on their battle against Robotnik after the team was betrayed, roboticized and then thrown into the Zone of Silence.
Great War & Original Freedom Fighter
Colonel Stripe served in the Royal Army for some time, eventually retiring prior to the fall of the Kingdom of Acorn. During Dr. Ivo Robotnik's coup d'état, Tig Stripe took it upon himself to rally the citizens who had not been captured by SWATbots and lead them out of the city of the safety of Knothole. After Robotnik had succeeded in taking over Mobotropolis, Tig Strip organized the original Freedom Fighter group to strike back in any way possible. Tig realized that there was no way the free Mobians could fight a full-scale war, so instead had his group raid various factories for supplies, use guerrilla warfare tactics and sabotage to weaken Robotnik's regime. His campaign against Dr. Robotnik came to an end when he was betrayed by Trey Scales - a member of the Freedom Fighters - and roboticized with the rest of his command, all of whom were banished to the Zone of Silence. Despite this, Tig Stripe left a big impression on Sonic the Hedgehog and Sally Acorn, who went on to form the Knothole Freedom Fighters. His death left his wife, Mrs. Stripe, a widow who was nonetheless proud of her husband's sacrifice. (StH: #142, #143, CSE)
With the subsequent transformation of the Zone of Silence into the Special Zone, Tig Stripe and his comrades were all among the inhabitants and elements of the zone to be eradicated by Feist as he reshaped his realm.(CSE)
