The proton gun is a double-barrel, multi-purpose laser rifle created by the Dark Legion and the prefered weapon of Julie-Su. It can fire twin lasers from its barrels, can have a small grappling hook attached to it and also comes with a knock-out gas feature. (StH: #102, KtE: #8, #13)

The gun's design and capabilities are largely reminiscent of a weapon used by Disney-cartoon character, Darkwing Duck's Gas-Gun, including the grappling hook.
