The Particle-To-Light Organizer & Transporter Device is a contraption presumably built by Miles "Tails" Prower that allows people to be transported into digital environments and worlds. It was first used to assist in Shadow the Hedgehog's quest to learn more about his past by accessing the damaged diary of Professor Gerald Robotnik before all the information on it deteriorated forever. It was used again a while later to access the digital defenses of New Mobotropolis and contact NICOLE while she was under the influence of the Iron Queen's Magitek. (StH: #171, #209)

The device's name is a play on the use of such things within a story: the P.L.O.T. Device.
