The North Pole is a snow-covered region on Earth in the Sonic X Zone. It is commonly said to be the location of a work shop run by the mythical Christmas figure, Santa Claus.
Sonic the Hedgehog, sceptical of Santa's existance, once ran to the North Pole to seek out the man for himself, with no evidence of him being there. Before Sonic was able to inform Chris Thorndyke of his findings, Chuck Thorndyke took him aside and explained that Santa's workshop only appears on December 25th (Christmas Day). (SX: #15)
