During the period when Dr. Eggman's Operation: Clean Sweep altered reality and reshaped Mobius, the Labyrinth Zone was a ruin-like maze partially submerged in water and the decaying remnants of an ancient civilization. Sonic and the Freedom Fighters had to travel through it to find Dr. Eggman. It eventually lead them to the Star Light Zone. (StH:#227)
