Summary[]

Story One[]

"Return to Angel Island: Part 3: How Many Echidnas Does It Take To Protect a Master Emerald?"

Knuckles is horrified to learn he has a baby brother. While his friends look on, Lara-Le reminds him that she was pregnant when they last met and tells him that they named the child Knecapeon Mace, Kneecaps for short. Knuckles tells her it's the worst name he's ever heard while Sonic, Remington, and the Chaotix have a laugh at his expense. Later that night, the free echidnas pitch tents for Knuckles and his friends. Knuckles heads off to think over the "prophecy" that the echidna believe he'll fulfill. Mighty explains to Sonic that Knuckles is probably having a hard time dealing with everyone treating him differently since he came back to life, and Sonic wonders if it's like how Sally has been treating him lately.

Knuckles heads into the Hidden Palace, passing by Lien-Da and Dr. Finitevus on his way to the Master Emerald. Lien-Da thinks Knuckles has come to speak with them, but he pays them no mind. Knuckles sits in front of the emerald and contemplates his decisions, guessing that his lack of power and the misplaced adoration of his people are the consequences Aurora told him he would face if he returned to the world of the living. Archimedes watches from a distance, pleased to see everything is going as he planned.

In New Megaopolis, Dr. Eggman receives a call from his Sub-Boss, Kage Von Stryker. Kage reports that Knuckles' group has landed on Angel Island. Eggman asks Kage if their prisoner has revealed the location of the Master Emerald, but Kage tells him he's still working on it. Once the transmission ends, A.D.A.M. asks if the doctor would like for the Egg Pawns to be deployed, but Eggman dismisses the idea. M volunteers to head to Angel Island as well, but Eggman turns down her offer as well, revealing that he has the perfect person to hunt them down. He opens a prison pod and prepares a Control Collar for his new agent.

Later, in the Hidden Palace, Lien-Da rallies her Dark Legion troops to rescue Locke from Kage's fortress. Knuckles bids his mother farewell and Charmy asks Saffron to stay behind. Remington asks Knuckles if he can join the fight, but Knuckles instead asks him to guard the Master Emerald. In the Dingo City, Harry arrives in Kage's chamber to bring his master his breakfast. Upon seeing Locke chained to the wall, Harry drops the food in shock. Kage starts to attack Harry for his jittery behavior when Dr. Eggman interrupts them through a video call. Kage tells Eggman that Locke will probably never give them the information. Eggman asks Kage to "take care" of him. Suddenly, the city's alarms go off as Sonic appears in Kage's quarters. Kage realizes that his troops are being dealt with outside and tries to attack Sonic, but misses and runs into a wall. Sonic gets ready to attack Harry when Locke tells him that Harry is a double agent. Knuckles arrives and unshackles his father, and the group easily knocks Kage out of their way. On the video screen, Dr. Eggman informs the group that he's tricked them all. While they were in Dingo City, he dispatched Hunter to find the Master Emerald.

Story Two[]

Mobius: 25 Years Later - "A Difference of Opinion"

At midnight on Angel Island, Knuckles has stepped outside away from his house guests only to find King Sonic waiting for him. As Knuckles invites Sonic to walk with him, Queen Sally and Julie-Su watch from above, hoping they can work things out. Sonic confused that Knuckles thinks, because of Rotor that the world might end, Knuckles says that it's worth listening to Rotor and Cobar. Knuckles doesn't know what is to come of this, that they're tackling forces of nature or beyond.

Sonic mentions that didn't it happen to Knuckles with his Chaos powers. Sonic reminds Knuckles when Robotnik stole the Master Emerald and because of this, Knuckles became Chaos Knuckles again. Knuckle disagrees that Angel Island would've been destroyed if he didn't. Sonic reminds him again that Chaos Knuckles didn't just take down Robotnik, but remake Mobius the way he wanted, including de-roboticizing Julie-Su. Sonic thinks that Knuckles lead to the current chain of events, but Knuckles blames Sonic for acting stupid.

Knuckles reminds Sonic that Sonic attempted to use a gadget to stop Knuckles. The gadget blows back and Sonic is comforted by Sally. Sally believes that the nullifier went off prematurely, and Julie-Su calls them over to Knuckles. Knuckles red again, Sonic and Julie-Su are shocked that the accident cost him his eye; as Knuckles is pointing to his cyborg eye. Sonic still blames Knuckles that his actions could have started the chain of events. Sonic asks if they're any other ideas that Knuckles has, Knuckles walks off saying that doesn't sound like the old Sonic, Sonic in his thoughts thinks what happened to himself.
