Archieverse
From Mobius Encyclopaedia
The Archie Sonic the Hedgehog universe, or "Archieverse", is the fictional universe which is comprised of hundreds of comic books published by Archie Comics surrounding the character Sonic the Hedgehog and his adventures on the planet Mobius.
The Archieverse canon does not include any storylines, characters or settings from any of the Sonic the Hedgehog video games, TV series or movies unless they also appear in the comics. Additionally, it does not include any of the Sonic X comics, also published by Archie Comics. The ONLY exception to this is Sonic X #40 where Shadow and Metal Sonic (from the Archieverse universe) ended up in that issue, and thus the issue will only be referenced in those two articles. Mobius Encyclopaedia is dedicated to strictly covering the material in the Archieverse, and will not feature articles pertaining to the other Sonic the Hedgehog media.
What is Considered "Official Canon" on this Site
Official canon for this site works on a two-tier system:
- Tier 1 — 100% official canon
- Anything that actually appears in the comics. (Things can be retconned in future issues, making events or information from previous issues no longer canon)
- Tier 2 — Canon until proven otherwise
- Things said by current/former writers of the series (as long as it does not contradict already established canon from tier 1)
- Things stated by the editor in the letters page (as long as it does not contradict already established canon from tier 1)
