SummaryEdit

Story OneEdit

"Southern Crossover" - Part Three

While recuperating in the Great Crater Tails draws another page of Captain Super Fox-Man The Mutant Cyborg Clone though he complains that Athair's influence has made it too wordy. Barely giving him time to put his comic away Athair bundles Tails off to the statues of the Ancient Walkers he saw when he woke earlier and tells the young fox about the origins of the Echidnas and Angel Island and thus the Great Crater, which was left when Angel Island rose to avoid the White Comet (as well as revealing he is Knuckles' Great Gradnfather), but he becomes impatient, as does Tails who rushes off on his mission. Athair begs him to wait, calling him 'The Chosen One' for the first time and saying the Ancient Walkers wish to commune, Tails scoffs at the 'bunch of statues' only for them to come to life and seize him.

Back at Crocobot's headquaters the supply blimp is ready to dock, Robotnik is stil monitoring Crocobot's progress and the Downunda Freedom Fighters are still on the attack to rescue Wombat Stu. To deal with the latter problem, Crocbot unleashes the CD-ROM Ram, who proves more than a match for a freedom fighters - butting Barby Koala clear across to the Great Crater where the Ancient Walkers, channeling through Tails, are explaining the history of Mobius. They recount the Coming of the Chaos Emeralds, the birth of Enerjak and foretell The Great Harmony. Tails wakes from the trance to find himself healed, just in time to catch the falling Barby, whom he immediately takes back to Crocobot's HQ. There Walt Wallabee has grown frustrated with their lack of progress against the 'ram and unleashes his explosive boomerangs on it, destroying the 'bot. Crocbot barely gets a chance to mourn it's loss, and doesn't get the chance to dock the supply blimp before Tails and Barby attack, the result being the blimp's mooring arm swinging into the blimp, causing it to crash. On the ground Walt, Bill and Guru Emu watch on in horror as it burns.

Crocbot however escapes while Barby is freeing Womabat Stu and rides off in his nuclear-powered Mega Mecha Tank, but by now even Guru Emu has had enough and he and Tails take off after the underboss, Guru armed with another explosive boomerang of Walt's. The boomerang blows out one of the tank's treads, sending it and Crocobot into the Great Crater, the resulting nuclear cloud taking the form of Athair's smiling head. At the beach Tails turns down the offer to join the Downunda Freedom Fighters only to lament his inability to return to Knothole. The fox's luck is in though, as Ray and Bottlenose arrive with a fixed Sea Fox for him, delighted Tails says goodbye to his new friends, vowing to tell the Knothole Freedom Fighters about them and that together they will bring down Robotnik's regime.
