Summary
Story One
- "Menace to Society"
Knuckles lands in the Mystic Ruins to explore the area, but discovers an unconscious Dr. Robotnik. Knuckles begins to wonder if he should finish him off, as Chaos appears behind Knuckles unnoticed. Meanwhile in the Station Square Hotel, Sonic explains to the Freedom Fighters the events of SSS: 13 and that they can all relax. Tails laughs at Sonic's pun of Sonic and Knuckles who "mopped" the floor of Chaos. Sonic then apoligises to Tails that he lost his bi-plane. Nate interrupts Sonic and gives him a device that can trace the bi-plane's location. Sonic runs with Tails at his side to find the plane. Several heart-beats later, Sonic and Tails race through the Mystic Ruins. Tails notices an unconscious Knuckles and wakes him up. Knuckles explains that he was struck by something, when Dr. Robotnik flees from the scene gloating that he'll return to crush them. Sonic about to go after him, when Knuckles remembers that it was Chaos who struck him. Knuckles seeing a connection to Tails' bi-plane and Chaos' return searches for the plane with Sonic and Tails. They all rush to the Mysterious Cat Country, and find Big and Froggy next to the destroyed bi-plane. Suddenly, a water twister appears and steals the Super Emerald from the bi-plane and heads into the city.
In the city, Mayor Bullyani gives Sally, Nate, Bunnie, Antoine, Amy and her Flicky around the city's power plant. The mayor then shows them that the power is supplied by the six Super Emeralds that are back. Chaos, in his liquid form, then enters the display chamber and absorbs the Super Emeralds.
Outside the power plant, Chaos transforms into Perfect Chaos and begins to destroy the city. Bunnie, Antoine, Amy and Nate save some citizens around the city from the water, while Sally hopes Sonic comes to the rescue. Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Big and Froggy arrive into the city when Dr. Robotnik reappears with his Eggship Destroyer. Perfect Chaos notices Dr. Robotnik and uses a powerful blast, destroying the ship and sending Dr. Robotnik plummeting. A mysterious light then appears in front of Sonic and plays an image in his head. The image sows Sonic the early Echidna civilisation and the light then transforms into a female echidna. She tells Sonic that she is Tikal, the daughter of the Echidna Tribe in his vision. She explains that the power siphon in the city is still connected to Chaos. She prepares to seal Chaos back in the Master Emerald, but Sonic objects that it won't change anything. Tikal then performs a forgotten echidna ritual to weaken Perfect Chaos and suck the seven Super Emeralds out of him. She throws them to Sonic, who transforms into Super Sonic. Super Sonic battles Perfect Chaos to a point where Tikal thinks its weak enough for them to fight, but Perfect Chaos arises angrier. Super Sonic charges at Perfect chaos to fight it off.
