[edit] Summary
[edit] Story One
- "Bot's All Folks" - Part One
This issue begins with a SWATbot taking a Crabmeat into Dr. Robotnik's as punishment for reading comic books (one of Robotnik's laws is NO READING). Before the Crabmeat is thrown into the trash compactor, for punishment he explains he read the comic books for inspiration on new robots. Robotnik decides to take Crabmeat's thought into consideration, and goes on television explaining his devious plan. Before he can continue, Sonic the Hedgehog ambushes him, but he sends out a signal, with a flashlight, to alert one of his robots (this is a Batman reference).
As it turns out, the robot IS based on Batman and is named Botman. Botman and Sonic duke it out, but the robot comes on top and knocks out Sonic. While Botman cheers over Sonic's defeat, the Freedom Fighters watch in distress as their favorite blue hero is defeated.
- "Bot's All Folks" - Part Two
Dr. Robotnik is dancing in joy, thinking his nemesis is done for good. However, Sonic uses his speed to dismantle Botman in no time. Nevertheless, Robotnik sends out another robot, (based on the X-Man, Wolverine) but as it turns out, the producers of the robot sent out a goofy, dancing, moronic robot known as the Wolvurkel robot (based on Steve Urkel).
Robotnik sends out another robot named Spawnmower (based on Spawn), a huge robot that cuts down several trees in the Great Forest. Sonic manages to pull its active cord and make it stall. Sonic pushes the Spawnmower off the cliff, breaking it into pieces.
Robotnik then sends out three more robots, named Magbot, Captain Marbot and Mighty Bot (based on Magnus the Sorcerer, Captain Marvel and Mighty Mouse), but they are quickly beaten by Sonic. After the robots' defeat, Robotnik runs away, by riding Crabmeat like a horse.
Sonic returns to Freedom HQ to celebrate victory.
[edit] Story Two
- "A Little Music Goes a Long Way" - Part One
One day, Sonic is playing his guitar for his friends, with no care about one of Robotnik's rules: No Music. Dr. Robotnik hears the music from Sonic's guitar, and screams in fury. Then, he is confronted by his lackey Snively. Snively explains that he invented a shrinking device to eliminate the Freedom Fighters. Robotnik decides to use the shrinking device on them, but threatens to use it on Snively, once he starts humming along with Sonic's music.
After Sonic plays guitar for his friends, he takes them to the Mobius Concert Hall, where they can form a band. Everyone is excited about Sonic's plan, but before they can reach the orchestra pit, they are all shrunk by Robotnik's device. Robotnik appears in front of them with a huge vacuum-like Roboticizer and chases after them.
- "A Little Music Goes a Long Way" - Part Two
Sonic is chased by Robotnik, but manages to outrun him, in his tiny size. Sonic clogs up Robotnik's machine with old concert programs and takes his friends out of Robotnik's sight. Suddenly, Sonic jumps out in front of Robotnik, who chases after him, but breaks his machine after falling into the orchestra pit.
Sonic thinks he has won, until Robotnik sucks him up, in a hand-held vacuum cleaner. Robotnik almost kills Sonic, until his friends shoot several violin strings at Robotnik, angering him. He tries to kill them, but they grow back to their normal size (the shrinking effect only lasts an hour) and so does Sonic, breaking out of the hand-held vacuum.
Robotnik calls out an army of robots, but is scared off when Sonic and his pals play loud, brash music. While the badniks are still on there way, Rotor explains to Sonic that he can use Robotnik's shrinking device (which he left behind) to shrink the robots. They do so, and send them back to Robotropolis, while Robotnik rages, due to another defeat.
[edit] Quotes
[edit] Key Events
- Sonic defeats all of Robotnik's comic based Badniks.
[edit] Background Information
- When Dr. Robotnik takes out his second super robot, it was going to be based on Wolverine from the X-man but (because of a communication glitch) ended up with a robot based on Steve Urkel from Family Matters. Jaleel White was known for playing both Urkel and Sonic in SatAM.
- Most of the other homages are obvious:
- Botman - Batman
- Spawnmower - Spawn
- Magbot - Magnus the Sorcerer
- Captain Marbot - Captain Marvel
- Mighty Bot - Mighty Mouse
- First regular appearance of Snively, not counting his guest role in StH: #6. His outfit is all white in this issue only.
