Summary
Story One
- "The Spin Doctor"
The Freedom Fighters stage a surprise attack on Robotnik, planning to end him once and for all, when they realize he's moved. A note on his factory door says he's moved to Mt. Mobius, an active volcano, to which Sonic immediately goes, leaving his friends behind. He finds the fortress and some pinball rails, but doesn't know what they're for until Robotnik uses a paddle to knock him first into the lava and then onto the rails. Sonic easily bests the first levels of the Veg-O-Fortress, briefly meeting two kangaroos named Hip and Hop along the way, but is stopped at the third level, where evil plants reign and a container of animals is left untouched. Sonic is forced to flee into a tunnel marked "To Robotnik" but it actually just boots Sonic out of the fortress, where he is caught by Tails.
Story Two
- "Sonic's Christmas Carol" - Part One
Rotor works for Mr. Scrooge (Robotnik), who only allows Rotor off for Christmas by reducing his five minute lunch break to one minute for the next ten years. Scrooge spends his night at his house watching rubbish burning on TV until the ghost of his former partner-in-evil, Jacob Snarley (Snively) appears and tells him to change his evil ways. When Scrooge says no, Snarley warns him that he will be visited by three ghosts. Scrooge breaks his TV. That night, the ghost of Christmas past (Sonic) shows up and takes Scrooge back in time, where he is spending the day with Sonic and Sonic's Uncle Chuck. Chuck leaves for a moment while the two kids are setting up the Christmas tree. Robotnik takes advantage and gets in Chuck's tractor, intending to knock the tree over.
- "Sonic's Christmas Carol" - Part Two
Sonic digs a ditch around the tree, to which the future Scrooge tries to get his revenge when he trips and lands in a bowl of food. Confused, he finds out he's in the present, in Rotor's home. A present arrives to which the Freedom Fighters--Rotor and his family--deduce is from Scrooge and attempt to open it. Scrooge laughs, as the present is a turkey-shaped bomb. Sonic stops them and marks it return to sender. Scrooge again tries to get Sonic but is pulled into the future. Robotnik sees himself and the Freedom Fighters as elders, hardly able to walk, and almost repents when he learns that, by fighting, he has lost so much time that there is nothing left for him to rule over. Future Scrooge has a robot, however, that captures and defeats the old Freedom Fighters, to which present Scrooge is giddy over his eventually victory. His future self is then delivered a package marked "return to sender," (it was sent in slow mail) which present Scrooge recognizes as the bomb. His future self opens it and it explodes. It's all Sonic's dream, on Christmas day, and he is woken up by Rotor. Sonic speeds off and becomes a Santa-like character, flying through the air in a giant shoe pulled by reindeer as Robotnik cries out "bah humbug!"

Background Information
- The main story is the comic tie-in to the video game Sonic Spinball.
- The backup adapts A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens.
- This is the first issue where Rotor's name is corrected from being "Boomer".
- Two kangaroos named Hip and Hop make their debut in this issue, and appear once again in StH #40.
- Rexxon is probably named after the gas company, Exxon, due to him being a toxic oil monster.
- It is also likely a reference to Roxxon, the massive petroleum corporation which appears in the shared Marvel Comics Universe.
- Though Snively makes his first appearance in this issue, he won't make his first canon appearance until StH #8
