Summary
Story One
- "Way, Way Past Cool"
As the Knothole Freedom Fighters were out enjoying the water on a hot day, the temperature dropped and a layer of clouds appeared to blanket the terrain with snow. Elsewhere, Dr. Robotnik and Snively are assessing the success of the Weather Annihilator, a machine designed to create freezing cold temperatures that would allow infra-red scanners to pick up Mobians using their body heat. As Robotnik set out in his "sled", the Freedom Fighters made a desperate search for shelter, eventually locating a cave. While Robotnik closed in on him, the Freedom Fighters were unexpectedly greeted by a mysterious figure who led them deeper into the cave.
While Robotnik arrived at the cave entrance to find it apparently empty, the Freedom Fighters discovered that their guide was a Mobian Penguin named Flip, who led the group to his companions: Guntiver the Wolf, Erma the Ermine, Sealia the Seal, and Augustus the Polar Bear. Guntiver then revealed to the Freedom Fighters that he and his companions had traveled south to visit family years before, only to be stranded when Robotnik took power. Taking shelter in the cave, they used discarded technology to create an Arctic Zone in which they would be more comfortable. Despite their disadvantage, Sonic and his friends were determined to fight Robotnik, and their hosts graciously offered them the use of their Arctic Zone for training in cold weather. After a week, the temperatures had dropped to the point that Robotnik had considered abandoning the Weather Annihilator plan. He soon changed his mind as the cold weather prepped Knothole Freedom Fighters attacked using a catapult to launch massive snowballs.
Having previously attempted to convince Robotnik to abandon his scheme, Snively sought to redeem himself by freezing the Freedom Fighters using a weapon on Robotnik's sled. He succeeded in trapping them from the shoulders down in an ice block which he then began pushing using the sled, only for Augustus to grab hold of the vehicle in an effort to stop him. Snively targeted him with a weapon, only to be ambushed by Guntiver. Flip distracted a group of approaching SWATbots, while Sealia and Erma set about trying to free the Freedom Fighters. Rather than wait to be freed completely, Sonic had them load his ice block-which had been separated from that holding the other Freedom Fighters-into the catapult, launching him at the Annihilator. Sonic then freed himself by crashing into Robotnik and then disabled the machine with a spin dash. Their mission accomplished, the newly formed Arctic Freedom Fighters head for home in Robotnik's sled, determined to fight Robotnik's tyranny on their home turf if he ever intruded upon the north. Sonic then suggested a snowball fight to his friends using the leftover snow, prompting them to pelt him with snowballs.
Story Two
- "Fortified"
During an exploratory mission on a forested mountain, Sonic injured his ankle, forcing the Freedom Fighters to help him along as Robotnik closed in on them with his Bot Bus. Though the vehicle experienced trouble with the terrain, Robotnik remained determined to capture the wounded Sonic. Desperate for safety, the Freedom Fighters stumbled upon an old log fort built by Sally's ancestors. With its walls certain to fall against robotic strength, an old useless cannon, and no apparent escape route, the fort seemed a poor choice for a last stand. As Bunnie closed the front door, she lamented not being all robot so as to have greater strength for the coming battle. Sonic, though injured, seized upon the idea and had Rotor pull out a pocket laser so that he could serve as a blacksmith. The Bot Bus soon burst through the door, only to encounter Bunnie, who had been outfitted in armor made from the broken cannon. Dubbing herself "Robo-Bunnie", she handily defeated a squad of SWATbots, but found herself weighed down so much by the armor that she couldn't hop away or run fast enough to avoid being cornered by the Bot Bus. However, as Robotnik attempted to crush her beneath the vehicle, Bunnie employed the extending feature in her legs to lift herself above the attack while the Bot Bus shot through between her feet. As Robotnik and Snively plowed down the mountain in the unstoppable vehicle, the Freedom Fighters celebrated their victory while Sonic joked about having found a way to defeat Robotnik even while injured.

Bunnie:Right now Ah wish Ah were all robot! We'd have a better chance against Robotnik!
Bunnie:Y'all should know me, Robotnik... You made me part of what I am! Now you can call me... ROBO-BUNNIE!
Sonic:Heck, even when I can't run... ...I'm still TOO QUICK for Robotnik!
