Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 24 was the twenty-forth issue of the main Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.

Summary

Story One

"When Hedgehogs Collide"

Sonic kicks a pig in a mud puddle. At the pond, Sally threw a squirrel into the water after she asked if she to fish with her. Antoine is driving recklessly through Knothole Village and demolishes an apple stand, then backs up and grinds the apples into applesauce onto the vendor. Rotor walks into a store and smashes it with a bat, then he gives the store owner a ticket for not have a store large enough to swing a bat. A flying Tails dive bombs a turtle in the road and throws tomatoes at him. In the middle of the Great Forest, it is revealed that the group is the evil version of the Freedom Fighters, the Anti-Freedom Fighters. No one suspects its them and Evil Sonic has a plan.

The story flashbacks a few hours to Anti-Mobius where Evil Sonic is bored. The only time he has fun is when he fights Sonic the Hedgehog, as he has already taken over the planet and his "archfoe" Dr. Robotnik won't fight him and his SWEEPbots do all the work of cleaning. Anti Sally comes in and kicks down Anti Sonic, believing he's gone soft. Anti Sonic tells her that about the Cosmic Interstate and how he met both Sonic (StH:11) and Robo-Robotnik (StH:19), editing the story so that he doesn't tell her Sonic beat him both times. So they get the Anti-Freedom Fighters together and go into the Cosmic Intestate and head into Mobius Prime. Once they get there they get into "incognito", take of their leather jackets to avoid being caught, and begin to harass the citizens.

The real Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, and Antoine are returning from Negative Reality after being sent there by Rotor's Timespace Matter Projector while trying to pierce their way into the Zone of Silence to rescue King Acorn. Sonic accused Nicole, although she claims that she doesn't work well in Negative Reality. Sonic decides not to tell Sally so not to get her hopes up. Just then Sally comes back. An angry mob appears at Freedom HQ's front door, and they flee as the mob comes upon them. They realize that someone is posing as them and Sally has an idea on how to draw them out.

Citizens panic a the Anti Freedom Fighters come near and the Anti Sonic decides to attack some "poor innocent gypsies"(the real Freedom Fighters) in disguise. After Anti Sonic's bike trips over a rope tied to an arrow shot by Sally, Sonic insults him into attacking him and Sonic dodges and sucker punches him. After the Freedom Fighters revealed themselves, the two groups go into an all out brawl. After being equally claased by their own alternate versions, the Freedom Fighters switch opponents and win. The citizens apoligize to the Freedom Fighters and Sonic tells Anti Sonic that he is going back to Anti Mobius and that he lost. Anti Sonic says he got what he wanted: a fight.

• Anti Sonic: My counterpart is everything I'm not--helpful, kind, obedient, cheerful and thrifty! A regular Boy Scout! OOOOH "How I hate that hedgehog!"

• NICOLE: It's not my fault Negative Reality wreaks havoc with my software! Next time, bring a compass.

• Sonic (in disguise): Oh, no! It is Sonic the Hedgehog and his gang of outlaw Freedom Fighters, come to terrorize us poor innocent gypsies.

• Sonic: ... You're going back where you came from, handsome. Game Over--you lose.

Anti Sonic: Hah! Shows how much you know, pretty boy. I got what I came for...a fight.

Key Events

• The Anti Freedom Fighters impersonate their Prime counterparts in order to frame them.

• Sonic, Tails, and Antoine attempt to reach the Zone of Silence to rescue King Max but fail to breach through the Negative Reality.

Background Information

• This will not be the last time the Freedom Fighters will face off against their Anti-Mobius counterparts. Many issues later the Anti Freedom Fighters will invade Mobius as the Suppression Squad led by the Anti Sonic, Scourge. Scourge and the Anti-Antoine, Patch, would return to Mobius Prime even sooner on separate agendas.
• When Anti Sonic says," My counterpart is everything I'm not--helpful, kind, obedient, cheerful and thrifty! A regular Boy Scout! OOOOH How I hate that hedgehog!", he is referring to the Boy Scout Oath.
• This issue marks the first mention of Anti-Bunnie.
