Summary[]

Story One[]

"Triple Trouble" - Part One

Dr. Robotnik is playing darts with a picture of Sonic the Hedgehog in the middle of the dartboard. Crabmeat confronts Robotnik and tells him that he could take Sonic out. Robotnik refuses to let Crabmeat fight Sonic, but he allows him to be the target of his new robotic monkey, Coconuts. Coconuts goes out to fight Sonic under Robotnik's command. Sonic and his friend Tails are out for a run when they are suddenly ambushed by an explosive coconut thrown by the metallic monkey.

Tails tries to attack Coconuts after being teased a bit, but Sonic holds him back. They manage to outsmart Coconuts by shaking him down a tree, and playing catch with one of his explosive coconuts. Sonic and Tails play "monkey in the middle" with Coconuts' exploding coconut. Sonic drops the coconut on the monkey and blows him up. Later that day, a SWATbot returns a damaged Coconuts to Robotnik.

"Triple Trouble" - Part Two

Robotnik sends out two new robots: Scratch, a chicken robot and leader of the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad along with his "twin", Grounder, a robot similar to Burrobot. Scratch and Grounder go out to the Great Forest to find Sonic, but have trouble along the way. Sonic sends Tails back to Knothole and then ambushes the two robots. Scratch and Grounder both fall off a cliff, but they don't give up.

Grounder shoots a cable around Sonic's neck, and hauls him to the ground. Scratch claims that he'll get all the glory for their capture, and the two end up fighting over who gets to receive honor from Robotnik. Sonic takes the cable off of his neck while the robots fight, then attacks them. Sonic creates a fissure where Scratch and Grounder are standing, and they fall in. Sonic calls Robotnik on Grounder's phone to tell him his new robots have failed. Sonic runs off, and Robotnik screams out, "I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!"

Story Two[]

"Vertigo A Go-Go"

Sonic is out collecting Magic Rings to help defeat Robotnik, when he suddenly notices several rings in front of a catapult that launches him into the Special Zone, where he meets Verti-Cal and Horizont-Al. Sonic is sent through a topsy turvy world, and thinks Verti-Cal and Horizont-al are his enemies, hired by Robotnik. They claim that they don't know him, and send him through crazy shenanigans.

Sonic suggests that Verti-Cal and Horizont-al should join the Knothole Freedom Fighters, but they don't seem to listen. Sonic is shot out of the Special Zone, back into the Great Forest. Antoine confronts Sonic and asks him "What's UP". Sonic furiously chases after Antoine, while Verti-Cal and Horizont-al watch.

Short Stories[]

"In the Beginning!"

Sonic tells the reader about his prototype names before he was christened "Sonic" the Hedgehog, such as "Chronic" the Hedgehog, "Moronic" the Hedgehog, "Philharmonic" the Hedgehog, "Histronic" the Hedgehog, "Hydroponic" the Hedgehog, and "Stereophonic" the Hedgehog.

"Foiled Again!"

Sally and Boomer ask Sonic to sit down for a moment. They then smack him in the face with a sheet of tinfoil. They then use the impression on the foil to make "foil" comic book covers and ask if Sonic could let them make 74,999 more copies.

"Two-Timer!"

Sally asks Sonic if he could just wait a moment, but he tells her about all the things he could be doing while she cooks his "two-minute egg". Sally decides she doesn't want to cook for him anymore.

"All the Mail's about Tails!"

Several children around the world write to Sonic, suggesting reasons for why Tails has two tails. One child thinks Tails is a mutant, another child thinks he's a freak, and yet another thinks Tails was created in a lab, or maybe that one of his ancestors helped Charles Dickens write "A Tails of Two Cities". Tails decides that, whatever the reason for his two tails is, he should get his own miniseries.

Quotes[]

  • Dr. Robotnik: "Join Robotnik's Rats!"

  • Tails: "Why that sassy little simian! C'mon, Sonic -- let's chase him!"
  • Sonic: "No! That's just what he wants! We're not playin' his game!"

  • Sonic: "♫ Bringing in the rings... bringing in the rings... we shall come rejoicing bringing in the rings! Magic rings, that is... to help us defeat Robotnik!"
