Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 118 was the one hundred and eighteenth issue of the main Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.

Story OneEdit
- "Robotnik's Return"
Dr. Robotnik and Snively have rebuilt new and improved metal bodies and prepare to attack Knothole. Sonic arrives on the scene with the Freedom Fighters; Sally asks NICOLE to scan their new bodies to find they can no longer roboticize by touch. Sonic attacks Dr. Robotnik, but gets balanced back by his metallic shell. Tails attacks Snively, but with no damage. Both Sonic and Tails confront Dr. Robotnik and Snively, but are transported away. Sally, Bunnie and Antoine in shock about them transported, wondering where.
The Bem alien race have taken Sonic, Tails, Dr. Robotnik and Snively to their spaceship orbiting Mobius. Ceneca-9009 (unnamed) scans them to discover that two of them are organic (Sonic & Tails) and two aren't (Dr. Robotnik & Snively). Ceneca-9009 prepares them for an experiment; Dr. Robotnik and Snively are transform back into flesh and Sonic and Tails are transformed into Mecha Sonic and Mecha Tails. All demanding the aliens to change them back are told by Ceneca-9009 that they must defeat their enemies in combat. The winners will be returned to their former state, while the losers will be trapped in their current transformation forever.
All of them arrive in an artificial environment, with the appearance of Robotropolis. Dr. Robotnik and Snively prepare to attack Mecha Sonic and Mecha Tails in a robot, Mecha Sonic telling him he's just going to listen to the aliens. Dr. Robotnik attacks them with missiles, but Mecha Sonic and Mecha Tails survive the blow. Mecha Sonic uses one of his missiles and quickly destroys the robot. Mecha Sonic flies after Dr. Robotnik, Dr. Robotnik firing at him, but with no effect. Mecha Tails defeats Snively as Mecha Sonic goes after Dr. Robotnik. In the dark, Mecha Sonic uses his infra-red eyes to find him and captures him with a net.
Mecha Sonic and Mecha Tails glad that their won celebrate. Dr. Robotnik points out that this proves that robots are the superior beings. Mecha Sonic doesn't take notice of this. Back on Mobius, Sonic and Tails arrive back to normal in Knothole, explaining the story to the rest of the Freedom Fighters. Because of Dr. Robotnik being back to normal, Sally won't be able to track him and he would know the location of Knothole. Sonic and Tails prepare for Dr. Robotnik's next attack.
Story TwoEdit
- St. John + Hershey in: "Heart To Heart"
Doctor Quack congratulates Rotor for curing the Secret Service of their nanites. Geoffrey St. John and Hershey cured of the nanites are let out. Sally kisses Geoffrey and is happy to see them back. She heads out, ready to tell her mom and dad about their recovery. Hershey notices Geoffrey is sad about being back in action and ask why. Geoffrey believes that he has failed Prince Elias, which led to his running away (STH: 102), failed the Kingdom and failed his father. Hershey admits her attraction to Geoffrey and both share their first kiss.
Later, Geoffrey and Hershey approach King Maximillian Acorn, Alicia and Sally and request a leave. He explains that he and Hershey wish to travel the globe to search for Prince Elias and bring him back. King Acorn agrees to their proposal an they set off to find him.
Story ThreeEdit
- "Ultimate Power" - Part Four
Mammoth Mogul demands Chaos Knuckles to step into his Chaos Siphon chamber, so he'll press the button and destroy Dimitri. Chaos Knuckles uses his powers to finally give Mammoth Mogul what he deserves. Meanwhile; Julie-Su, Remington, the Chaotix and Harry notice a bright green light outside coming from Chaos Knuckles. At the Dark Legion headquarters, Gae-Na encounters the chaos energy coming from Chaos Knuckles and reports it to Lien-Da. Mammoth Mogul presses the button to destroy Dimitri, Chaos Knuckles uses his powers to save him. Chaos Knuckles is tricked and the whole room is transformed into a chaos siphon. Chaos Knuckles enters override mode to save Dimitri's life and destroy Mogul's plans. A bright green explosion occurs; after, Remington, Julie-Su, the Chaotix, Lien-Da and Gae-Na arrive at the explosion site. Remington gets out his gun at the sight of Lien-Da, but Lien-Da informs him that they're only here for Dimitri. Lien-Da and Remington enter the building and find Dimitri still alive. Dimitri wants them to look for Knuckles, his savior, but Lien-Da and Remington find him dead.
At the Rededication ceremony, the ceremony starts, even though Knuckles hasn't arrived yet. It is announced that the Floating Island will be renamed Angel Island after the other of the first Guardian, Edmund (Angel-La). The Echidnas at the ceremony soon find out that Knuckles has fallen in the line of duty.

- This issue marks the first appearance of the BEM alien species, Mecha Tails and the new version of Mecha Sonic.
- It was believed that Knuckles used a Chaos explosion which led to his death. But in #150 that Knuckles fired powerful Chaos bolt at Mogul, who used his own Chaos Emerald to absorb Knuckles' powers and transform into Master Mogul; which also explains his sudden disappearance.
