Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 102 was the one hundred and second issue of the main Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.

Story OneEdit
- "Family Dysfunction"
The story opens with the Robians in Knothole soon after regaining their free will thanks to the power of the Sword of Acorns. The citizens rejoice and gather with long unseen family members. Sonic the Hedgehog, while speaking with his mother remarks that he gives a lot of credit for the success of retrieving the Sword of Acorns to Sally. Sally hands the Sword of Acorns to Elias Acorn with Queen Alicia and King Maximilian accompaniment. Antoine orders the crowd to part as his father, Armand D'Coolette, who was formerly the High Sheriff is brought into position to be given his free will. Elias, summoned to the task of giving Armand his free will doesn't possess the bond with the sword required to complete the task and easily gives up and dropps the sword. Sally completes the task successfully giving Armand his free will. Antoine and his father rejoice and the crowd along with Sonic, and his Uncle Chuck along with the royal family leave the scene in relief and happiness. In Robotropolis, Dr. Eggman, furious over the loss of control of the Robians and the regain of their free will, tells Snively to activate the "sleeper agents".
Back at Castle Acorn, an injured Geoffery St. John discusses with the other secret service members that he has decided to leave the group. He assures Hershey that it's the best thing to do. Hershey responds in agreement. King Max, in front of the rest of the royal family scolds Elias for his poor attempt at using the sword and Sally for always taking control of the situation. Geoffrey St. John interrupts the dispute by requesting a leave of absence from the secret service to the king. Elias breaks down on the spot claiming he's not fit to be a leader and the best one for the job is his sister Sally. Just then, Heavy opens up his chest and hundreds of Bombs are released. The rest of the Secret Service collapse in pain due to the Nanites just activated in their bloodstream. [Due to being in jail, Sonic wasn't infected by the nanites because he wasn't interrogated.] Meanwhile as Sir Charles Hedgehog and Sonic were wandering in Knothole, Sonic sees (or possibly hears) trouble in the castle and tells Miles "Tails" Prower and Rotor Walrus that Heavy and Bomb had taken the royal family hostage and tells them to build something quick that could stop them. Sonic arrives at to the castle just a split second after one of the Bombs goes off, shaking up the guards outside of the castle. Inside the castle, the royal family is surrounded by Bomb duplicates. Max asks Elias why he has never told him how he feels about being a future leader from the start. Elias tells his father that he hasn't been true to his feelings with him because he didn't want to let him down. Sally's mother, Alicia Acorn quivering with fear finds Sally much less frightened by the situation and comments on her bravery.
Sonic suddenly bursts through the door and comes face-to-face with Heavy. Heavy tells Sonic that if he destroys the bombs many more can be produced. He goes on to tell Sonic that the Bombs will detonate if he tries to rescue the royal family. Before Heavy could finish gloating, he is destroyed by Sonic with a Sonic Spin. Meanwhile, Rotor and Tails arrive with an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) Generator just in time before the Bombs detonate. Afterwards, Sonic tries to comment on the incident but Sally tells him she doesn't have time to talk and has to leave. Max tries to provoke Geoffrey to reconsider his leave of duty. Geoffrey replies stating that he and his team should be taken off duty until they can all get medical attention.
At Sonic's family home, Sonic, his family and Tails look through an old photo album containing pictures of Sonic's Father Jules, mother Bernie, and Uncle Chuck before the Coup. Tails takes a hand in snapping a picture of the hedgehog family, now completely reunited. That night, Elias runs away from home in order to start a new life.
Story TwoEdit
- "Life's Realities"
Chaos Knuckles has returned far into the past and brainwashed the judge to give Dimitri and Edumund the motion to land the Floating Island in its original location. Dimitri's plan goes well until the island begins sinking at a rate faster then they calculated. Knuckles is in pain and returns to the present, where Dimitri is angry at his stubbornness.
Dimitri then sends Knuckles back to when Edmund turned against him. Knuckles stopped Edumund from being attacked and began to be transformed into a robot. Again he returned to the present, his actions undone. Dimitri mentions that he felt as if he were a robot for a minute, under Robotnik's rule. Dimitri explains that because Knuckles saved Edumund, the Guardians weren't created, and so Robotnik easily took over. Dimitri says that they don't know if Knuckles can undo the Quantum beam's effects on Echidnaopolois.

Key EventsEdit
- General D'Coolette's free will is restored by the Sword of Acorns.
- Geoffrey St. John, Hershey and Wombat Stu discover they have nanites implanted in them by Dr. Eggman and decide to step out of action until they can get the nanites removed.
- Heavy and Bomb are revealed to be Robotnik's sleeper agents and are destroyed by Sonic.
- Elias runs away from Knothole to live a normal life.
- Knuckles attempts to change the past two more times. One by brainwashing the judge to approve of Dimitri's plan and the other by preventing Edmund's assassination. Both end in disastrous results.
