Archie Sonic X Issue 6 was the sixth issue of the spin-off Sonic X comic series.

Summary

Story

"I Never Promised You a Chao Garden" - Part Two

The story starts continuing from the previous issue. The story narrates that there are many kinds of loneliness, first showing the loneliness Chris feels without his parents there with him, Cream, who feels lonely missing her mother, Sonic, Tails and Amy who feel lonely miss their world and Cheese who is lonely because there are no other chao around. The narrator goes on saying there's a special kind of loneliness you feel when you know you are the last of your kind and you are not going to see anyone like you ever again. The narrator then states that's the kind of loneliness Knuckles live with everyday.

The narrator then goes saying ever since Angel Island was transported to Earth, Knuckles has remained there. As the last of his people Knckles has also inherited his role as the protector of the Master Emerald. It then goes on to say that for generations Knuckles tribe guarded the Master Emerald as well as the seven Chaos Emeralds.One day a neighboring clan attacked and the tribe tried to use the power of the Emeralds only to end up being destroyed by their fear and anger when they tried to control the Emeralds.

Like Sonic and his other friends Knuckles was transported to earth as the result of a battle between Sonic and Dr. Eggman. With the Master Emerald now on earth with him Knuckles has sworn never to let it be abused again and though it is a loneley job it is one Knuckles know only he and he alone can do as their is no one else who can do it. A bright light shines on Knuckles face blinding him as Tikal appears.

Back in Station Square, the demonic chao are rampaging as Scarlet Garcia reports. Sonic, Tails and Amy along with Lindsay Thorndyke, Chris, Chuck, Cream and Cheese. Tails gives Sonic a ring, supercharging Sonic. Sonic, Tails and Amy ready to stop the chao, Tails tells them that they are still chao and they shouldn't hurt them. Sonic rescues a window cleaner, whil Tails rescues a baby from their midst. Amy using her hammer to stop the fire hydrant's water from over leaking. The chao take away her hammer thinking she's powerless, but Amy brings out another hammer saying "there will always be more hammers!!!".

Dr Eggman shows Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun the next stage of his plan, by launching his new robot the Egg-Gantor (copyright by the Eggman Empire). Dr Eggman plans to use the new robot to stomp the city into submission and be crowed their emperor. Sonic, Tails and Amy surrounded by chao, cornered at a hardware store successfully dodge their attack. The demonic chao return with chainsaws. Sonic, Tails and Amy quickly disarm them of the chainsaws, Sonic showing off by juggling five saying "Hey kids! Don't try this at home!". Chuck tries to find the source of the noise that Cheese is hearing, so that he can jam the frequency. Chaos, Tikal, Knuckles and the Chao arrive into the city to stop the rampage. Chaos attempts to calm them down, but the demonic chao unable to speak the same language. Dr Eggman arrives in his new robot demanding that Station Square should surrender and make him the new ruler. Tikal sends a telepathic to the army of Chao to bring Chaos the seven Chaos Emeralds so that he can take down Dr Eggman. Chaos uses the positive side of the Emeralds, instead of the negative. Tikal fighting the same as Knuckles was taught by the tribe elders, and Knuckles read the scrolls the elder's left behind. Amy hits a hammer at the oncoming chao, wanting to join in.

Chuck managed to build a device to make the demonic chao, normal chao. Chuck succeeds in using it on Lindsay's chao. Tails gives the device to Sonic, who runs all around town restoring all of the chao. Chaos knocks the robot's head off and Dr Eggman takes off back to his base and saying "he'll find a new plan to take over the planet that doesn't involve chao!" Chaos powering down from the Chaos Emeralds, Tikal tells Sonic and his friends that they came back because the demonic chao were being hurt. Tikal decides to ask Cheese if she wants to return with them this time, but Cheese decides to stay with her friends. Cream asks if Cheese can visit the chao there, and Tikal answers that she is always welcome back with them.

Background Information

• In the last panel shown after Sonic goes around the city reverting the Chao back to normal, he is standing next to a hot dog stand which has "chili dogs" written on the side. This is most likely a nod to Sonic's love of chili dogs in many of the franchise's series. Including the main video games.
• When the seven Chaos Emeralds are shown, they are mistakenly depicted as all being green rather than multicolored. This is how the emeralds where depicted in the main comic series, before the Great Harmony.
• When Chaos absorbs the power of the Chaos Emeralds, instead of becoming his Perfect Chaos form, he remains in his standard form but grows into a giant. It was explained in both the anime and the Sonic Adventure video game that Chaos became Perfect Chaos by using the negative power from the emeralds. With this alternate transformation, it is assumed that this is a result of using the positive power.
