Summary[]
Official Solicitation[]
Just in time for Halloween, this issue is full of tricks but not many treats for our heroes. After his best friend Tails is tricked and blamed for unleashing the devastating power of an alien space craft upon Station Square city, Sonic races to his aid, but both of them end up apprehended by a shadowy government agency. Trapped in jail alongside the villainous Dr. Eggman, our heroes remain helpless as the spookiest ghosts of all time, King Boom Boo and his creepy cohorts, threaten their friends' peaceful existence! Can they bust out and bust the ghosts before it's too late?
Story One[]
- "Hare-um Scare-um!" Part One
The story begins from the last issue; Sonic and Sam Speed had managed to stop the robot from attacking Station Square, but have found Captain Westwood and Tails inside. Scarlet Garcia reports at the scene wanting to know why they attacked the city. The President sees the situation on TV, suspecting that Sonic and Tails have been working with Dr. Eggman. Topaz tries to persuade him that they're heroes, but he doesn't listen. As Scarlet Garcia is about to interview Tails and Captain Westwood, the President recognises him and demands to see Sonic, Tails and the Captain immediately.
Back in Station Square, Scarlet Garcia attempts to interview Captain Westwood, but the Captain doesn't answer to the world, only the President. Tails is about to tell them what happened, but the Captain blurts in saying Tails has no comment. The Captain then threatens the reporter or she'll be arrested.
Meanwhile at the Thorndyke Mansion, Chris, Cream, Vanilla, Cheese and Emerl are watching the news report. Vanilla, watching the scene with Cream and Cheese thinks it's too dangerous to live in Station Square, even if Emerl protects her. Vanilla proposes that her, Cream and Cheese move far away from Station square if they can't go back to their world.
Meanwhile at Station Square Park, both Sonic and Tails realise that both of them got tricked by Captain Westwood. Two of the President's agents have arrived and are willing to take Sonic, Tails and Captain Westwood by force back to the President.
Lindsay Thorndyke arrives at the Thorndyke mansion and plans to take Vanilla, Cream, Cheese, Chris and herself on their private island for a relaxing vacation. Vanilla declines, but Lindsay won't take no for an answer and says it'll give them all mother/child time. The private island is owned by them, but there are no people in sight. Chris, Cream and Cheese head into the town, trying to find some excitement.
Meanwhile at G.U.N headquarters, Sonic and Tails are being interrogated by the agents. Both agents believe that both Sonic and Tails are working for Dr. Eggman because of what Captain Westwood said. Both Sonic and Tails say that Westwood was lying. Captain Westwood won't admit that he knew about the ship and didn't report it, and claims that both of them built the ship and attacked Station Square. Topaz still doesn't believe that Sonic and Tails would betray them, but the President's aide says that they can't hold them any longer without charging them for a crime.
Chris, Cream and Cheese look around town, seeing no one in sight. Both decide to make their own sundaes at the ice-cream shop, but are being watched. Vanilla and Lindsay argue about Vanilla's situation about moving away. Vanilla finds the same hourglass that was in Sonic X episode 19 at the mansion and ghosts stalking them behind. Chris, Cream and Cheese are also confronted by ghosts at the ice-cream shop. The ghosts have possessed everyone in town; Chris, Cream and Cheese scared flee back to the mansion; they recognise the ghosts from the time. Sonic and Tails have been arrested by G.U.N and end up in the same jail cell as Dr Eggman.
Chris, Cream and Cheese have locked the rest of the ghosts out of the house, but the ghosts have now possessed both Lindsay and Vanilla...

- As such, they also appeared in the Sonic X anime itself, in episode 19 "Sonic's Scream Test".
- In prison, Eggman and his robots are seen repairing electronic devices as part of their sentence. This is a foreshadowing of what would happen in episode 43 of the anime, "Mean Machines".
- On the cover of this issue, Chris is wearing an outfit simular to the one worn in the Sonic X anime, in episode 35 "Sonic's Big Break".
- Emerl is misspelled Emeryl.
