Archie Sonic X Issue 10 was the tenth issue of the spin-off Sonic X comic series.

Summary

Sonic's 15th anniversary is turning out to be a raucous one, and this issue raises the bar for sheer Sonic mayhem! That's because the evil Eggman has trapped Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy and forced them to battle for their lives against Sonic¹s most dangerous adversaries from his early video game adventures! At least the Chaotix (Vector, Charmy and Espio) finally make a Sonic X appearance, but if they don¹t throw down soon, it could be game over for Sonic and his friends! The perfect 'jump-on' issue for new readers, and an exciting ride for long-time fans.

Story One

"No Thanks For the Memories!" - Part One - Celebrating 15 Years of Sonic the Hedgehog!

As a result of the barrier between Sonic's World and the alternate Earth becoming unstable, Cream's mother, Vanilla, and the Chaotix Detective Agency are transported into the middle of Station Square. Vector, Charmy and Espio discuss their situation with Sonic and his friends, deciding to investigate a way to head back to their home planet while they're on Earth. Vector asks Sonic, Amy and Tails if they would like to work at the agency, but they turn him down. Minutes later, an earthquake shakes Station Square. Sonic and his friends head back and find that the Chaotix (and their house) have disappeared, having warped back home.

One week later, at G.U.N. HQ in Washington, D.C., Captain Westwood accuses Agent Topaz of allowing Dr. Eggman to escape with the Thorndyke space shuttle. Topaz counters that his order for her return H.Q. would have stopped her, as well as Rouge the Bat, from saving dozens of lives. Westwood acknowledges this, stating that the President of France contacted the U.S. President to relay his thanks, sparing both agents from a court-martial for disobeying Westwood's orders. He explains to Topaz that he doesn't like her or Rouge and will monitor both of them, accusing Rouge of potentially being a traitor working for Eggman and promising to throw both of them out of G.U.N. if they make any mistakes. Topaz, frustrated with her superior officer, goes to tell Rouge about his thinly veiled threats. However, she is unable to find her.

After a soccer game with his friends Frances and Danny that Sonic mysteriously didn't show up for, Chris Thorndyke heads home to find that Sonic and all of his friends have gone missing. He worries that, like the Chaotix, they've all returned to their home world. Meanwhile, Sonic is confused when he finds himself in a familiar, grassy field. He spots rings nearby and grabs them, but is surprised when they don't give him a power boost. A Motobug crashes into him, causing the rings to scatter and disappear. Sonic faces off with the robot and pops it open, releasing a rabbit stuck inside.

Aboard the Egg Carrier, which slowly hovers over the South Pole, Dr. Eggman explains to his hench-bots (Bokkun, Decoe and Bocoe) about what he's learned from the journals of his grandfather, Gerald Robotnik. While Eggman is uncertain as to why his grandfather sent him to Sonic's World at a young age, he has discovered that his genius ancestor invented Emerl. Dr. Eggman goes on to say that his grandfather's notes inspired him to carry out his newest master plan to destroy Sonic and his friends.

Back in the green hills, Sonic busts some Buzzbomber, runs through loops, collects rings, and breaks open a mysterious monitor that grants him a barrier shield. Sonic is shocked, trying to outrun the shield, but is unable to shake it off. He runs to an arena at the edge of the hills and finds himself unable to progress any farther, suspecting that he's being trapped by a force field. Suddenly, what appears to be Dr. Eggman with a ball and chain attached to his Egg Mobile drops down from the sky. Sonic is struck and loses his barrier. He soon realizes this person couldn't possibly be Eggman because he doesn't talk. After taking another hit and losing his rings, Sonic unleashes an onslaught of attacks on the impostor, causing him to blow up and fly away. Sonic spots a Prison Egg ahead and opens it, freeing the animals inside. The world around him changes and he finds himself in mysterious ruins.

Sonic rushes his way into the depths of the marble-walled ruins, busting Caterkillers and Bat Brains while dodging lava flows and spikes. As he continues, Sonic wonders if he's disappointed Chris again by missing his soccer game. Determined to repay his kindness, Sonic steels himself to escape immediately and spend time with his human friend. Near the exit to the ruins, Sonic runs into Amy, who is surprised to find that she can't summon her hammer. Together, the two hedgehogs defeat the Eggman impostor once more and are transported to the Spring Yard Zone.

Back at the Thorndyke Estate, Chris convinces his grandpa that they have to look for Sonic. Borrowing the X-Tornado, they fly to Angel Island in search of Knuckles. When they arrive, they find that Knuckles and the Master Emerald are nowhere to be found. Chuck suspects that something is wrong, as Angel Island would have disappeared as well if Knuckles had been warped to his home planet. Meanwhile, Sonic and Amy rush through the hazards of Spring Yard Zone and accidentally crash into Knuckles, throwing all three of them off a ledge.
