Summary
Story One
- "Brave New World"
On Planet Mobius years ago, the Kingdom of Acorn ruled from Mobotropolis, governed by King Max and Queen Alicia. With their daughter Sally, it provided a shining beacon of hope for the next generation. The Great War soon began with the Mobians fighting against the Overlanders, with Queen Alicia mysteriously disappeared. The king's forces were led by Warlord Julian, but Julian renounced his heritage and adopted the name of Robotnik. He soon banished the king into the Zone of Silence, and lead his army of SWATbots to apprehend the citizens for the new city named Robotropolis. Those captured were roboticized, and robbed of their free will. Soon the champions would rise, such as Sonic the Hedgehog and his fellow Freedom Fighters, to fight the evil schemes of Robotnik. They would soon succeed in defeating and destroying him.
After Dr. Robotnik's defeat (STH: 50), the Freedom Fighters, along with Geoffrey St. John and the Substitute Freedom Fighters explore the ruins of Robotropolis. Sally directs the team to the centre of what used to be Castle Acorn, into Dr. Robotnik's control room. Sally is ready to secure the area, and asks Geoffrey for help. Sonic, objecting to the idea, starts a bit of a brawl with Geoffrey, until Tails and Hershey hear a loud noise. A DYNAMAC appears about to squash Tails, but Tails avoids the attack. Sonic and Geoffrey begin their assault on the DYNAMAC, but are hit away. The DYNAMAC grabs Antoine, Bunnie, Hershey and Tails in its hooks. Sally tells the team to confuse the robot, but DYNAMAC spins the captured Bunnie, Antoine, Tails and Hershey around. Sally yells at Sonic to execute Plan C, and Sonic spins around DYNAMAC very fast. However, DYNAMAC lets go of the captured victims about to hit Sonic, but they fall into an image of Sonic. Sonic used his speed to create multiple images of himself and confuse DYNAMAC with the copies having their own body heat. Rotor finds behind a curtain Snively, who attempts an escape, but Geoffrey uses one of his arrows that becomes a net around Snively. Sally yells at Sonic to start Plan D; Sonic runs under DYNAMAC's legs and Bunnie hits DYNAMAC with a live wire, shutting it down. Geoffrey suggests that if Snively would co-operate, life would be easier for them, but Sally doubts that. Sally explores the rest of the castle, only to find her home in ruin.
The following morning, NICOLE plans out to break into teams to get basic necessities set up. Sally assigns everyone a task; Bunnie and Antoine to establish running water, Rotor to establish a source of power and for Sonic and Tails to explore the ruins of the city. Geoffrey has disappeared to the armory in a secret communication with King Max. King Acorn tells Geoffrey that he sees the true enemy is Sir Charles Hedgehog, and that he could pose a threat to the realm. Geoffrey doesn't believe it at first, but King Acorn objects that Charles was the one that created the Roboticizer and found the Robotropolis Spy Network, which produced a traitor in the form of Sleuth "Doggy" Dawg.
Meanwhile, Sir Charles explores below the city to find some roboticized Robians. The Robians have found it hopeless to get un-roboticized and to be able to see their families again. Charles approachs two roboticized hedgehogs, and both hope that they can see their son again. Sonic and Tails meanwhile find a lot of SWATbots keeping a factory running. Penelope cries for help when Sonic and Tails arrive. Arlo is trapped under rubble from the collapsing building. Sonic tries to use his speed to smash the boulders, but they're too strong. Sonic hoping for a miracle, a roboticized Rudyard lifts up a giant boulder, freeing Arlo. Charles along with the Robians appear from the underground tunnel. Charles finding Sonic introduces him to Jules and Bernie, Sonic's parents. Sonic, shocked that his parents are alive, roars at Charles and flees from the scene. Bernie asks Tails to go and comfort Sonic, so that he has a friend. Sally with Dylan and Hamlin managed to get some communication lines working, when Charles appears with the Robians.
On the outskirts of Robotropolis, Sonic is enraged that Charles never told him that his parents were still alive, but Tails tells Sonic that Robotnik could've used them as a weakness to get to him. Sonic objects to the idea at first, but sees that he may not have wanted to fight if his parents were captive. Later that evening, Sally discusses with NICOLE that it would be better rebuilding somewhere else than in Mobotropolis. Geoffrey comforts Sally about the situation, but Sally tells Geoffrey that her heart belongs to Sonic. Sonic catches Sally and Geoffrey about to kiss and punches Geoffrey in rage. Sonic and Geoffrey begin to fight, grabbing the attention of Hershey and Tails. Sally tells the Freedom Fighters to cool them down, with Bunnie and Antoine using a hose on them. Sally tells Geoffrey and Sonic to let bygones, be bygones were Sonic and Geoffrey forgive each other. Sally appears in contact with King Acorn, in which he is in charge of everything, but making it out that Sally is. Charles along with the roboticized Robians proposes to Sally that they start their own colony in Robotropolis. Sally then invites them to come back to Knothole, but the Robians refuse because of the whispers among their kind.
The next day, Rotor sets off a vehicle to transport Snively to Devil's Gulag. The vehicle goes over the sign with Mobotropolis, instead of Robotropolis without the evil doctor. Snively now trapped in the Devil's Gulag plans out his revenge.
