Archie Sonic Super Special Issue 13 was the thirteenth issue of the Sonic Super Specials and a tie-in to the video game Sonic Adventure.
- "Sonic Adventure"
- Chapter 1
In Station Square, Sonic the Hedgehog tells Mayor Bullyani and the Freedom Fighters about his recent battle with a water monster. Thanking Sonic for his help in keeping the city safe, Bullyani mentions that the story reminds him of a legend he heard as a child about a monster called "Perfect Chaos". Before he can explain, Nate Morgan interrupts to ask if anyone has seen Amy. Realizing it's been over a day since tehy last saw her, the group heads to Amy's room to find it unoccupied. Sonic suspects that Dr. Eggman is probably behind all of their problems, from Amy to the water monster, and Sally decides to split the group into three teams.
Bunnie and Antoine are sent to search the city for Amy. Sally, Nate, and NICOLE head to the library to find information on Chaos. They learn that Chaos was trapped within the Black Emerald by local Chao transforming themselves into the Super Emeralds. Nate mentions he made the Ring of Acorns from a Super Emerald and the group realizes that Eggman wants to use any lingering energy from Amy's wish to restore Chaos's power. Meanwhile, Sonic and Tails head to the Mystic Ruins to search for Chaos, not noticing that Chaos is actually following them.
- Chapter 2
Sonic and Tails land in the ruins and spot Knuckles nearby. Sonic asks what Knuckles is doing there and why he's being followed by a ball of light. Knuckles says it's a long story, and begins to explain that he's hunting for Master Emerald shards when Chaos launches a sneak attack. Tails tries to reason with it, but the monster doesn't listen. Knuckles retaliates by bodyslamming Chaos, but Chaos attacks back and absorbs the Master Emerald shards Knuckles was carrying. Tails notices two shards of the Master Emerald nearby and tries to keep them away from Chaos, but is tripped by Dr. Eggman. Eggman gave the shards to Chaos, causing it to transform.
- Chapter 3
Eggman orders Chaos to attack the heroes, but they easily dodge its attacks. Eggman gloats at the heroes, telling them that Chaos will become invincible once it absorbs 7 Master Emerald shards and claiming that he'll destroy the Hidden City of the Ancients to create his own dream city: Robotnikland. Sonic and friends come up with a plan to trap Chaos: Knuckles knocks Chaos into the air, Tails blows up a ton of sand over the creature, and Sonic spins around it fast enough to heat the sand into a glass prison. However, Chaos manages to free itself by splashing quickly against the glass, cracking it open. Eggman and Chaos escape; Sonic and Tails head off to find them while Knuckles stays behind to take care of "unfinished business".
Elsewhere, Big the Cat is sitting in a boat. He followed Gamma's scent to find his friend Froggy, but the trail ended in the middle of the water. Suddenly, the Egg Carrier rises from the water underneath him. He stands on top of the ship, watching Eggman gloat about the power of Chaos nearby.
- Chapter 4
Sonic and Tails chase the Egg Carrier in the Tornado. Tails manages to evade the Carrier's artillery, and activates the Tornado's transformation feature. The new form helps the plane avoid fire, but Tails realizes as he starts to land on the Egg Carrier that the Tornado's transformed mode doesn't have landing gear and crashes. Meanwhile, the glowing light following Knuckles tells him what Eggman plans to do with Chaos and asks him to warn the people of the Hidden City. Eggman sets the Egg Carrier to transform into a drill and break through the mountain hiding the city, but Sonic and Tails find a switch that cancels the transformation and make their way to the bridge. When they arrive, they find Gamma and Eggman waiting for them.
- Chapter 5
While Gamma attacks Sonic and Tails, Knuckles receives another vision from the glowing light. He learns that Tails has a Super Emerald in his bi-plane and Chaos is going to try and snatch it. Knuckles suddenly finds himself on the Egg Carrier. He wonders how he got there, but shakes it off and goes to find the emerald.
Sonic and Tails continue to fight Gamma, and Sonic manages to gain the upper hand by deflecting the robot's laser back at it using a piece of glass. He gets ready to trash the robot when Amy steps in, begging Sonic not to hurt her friend. Elsewhere, Big finds Froggy, who coughs up an emerald. Big notices it's like one he found earlier, and Eggman steps in and snatches both, giving them to Chaos.
- Chapter 6
Tails notices that the Egg Carrier is losing altitude, and Sonic tells him to go to take Amy somewhere safe while he takes care of Eggman. Gamma leaves the ship as well. Sonic soon finds Big, who is stunned when he sees Froggy go after the emeralds in Chaos, getting stuck inside the water monster. Big manages to get Froggy out with his fishing pole just as Knuckles arrives.
Before Sonic and Knuckles can attack Chaos, Eggman sends his Ice-bots to freeze their legs in place. As Chaos attempts to eat Knuckles, Sonic notices that Chaos can't swallow Knuckles' frozen legs. He flings an Ice-bot into Chaos, causing it to freeze into solid ice. Sonic and Knuckles break free and smash the frozen Chaos into pieces, setting off a chain reaction that causes the Egg Carrier to self-destruct. Sonic heads for the Tornado, but sees that Big stole it. Knuckles grabs Sonic and glides to safety. After they land, Knuckles heads off to the Mystic Ruins to continue his search for the Master Emerald shards. Sonic, Tails, and Amy head back to the city to meet up with the Freedom Fighters. Big crash-lands the Tornado, destroying it, and Eggman escapes the wreckage of the Egg Carrier in his Egg Mobile, unaware of the blue ooze clinging to the side of his vehicle.
- Dr. Eggman: "Wait'll they get a load of this!"
- Dr. Eggman obtains more Super Emeralds and Master Emerald shards and gives them to Chaos, speeding up his evolution.

- Judging by the preview cover, the art of Knuckles and Dr. Eggman were originally from the promotional CG artworks made for the video game Sonic Adventure.
- This is the first time Robo-Robotnik is called Eggman.
- An editor's note on the panel where Gamma escapes the Egg Carrier mentions that Gamma's adventures continue with his in-game story. However, Sonic Universe #3 reveals this wasn't the case.
