Summary
Story One
- "The First Date" Part One of Three: "She Loves You... (and you know that can't be bad!)"
Vector, Espio and Mighty are eating in a food court when Vector mopes about Charmy leaving the Chaotix. Espio tells them that Charmy couldn't renounce his heritage and that he is betrothed. Vector and Mighty are shocked by the news and Espio tells them that he got a letter that Charmy is engaged to a girl named Saffron. The conversation leads to Vector complaining about girls being bad news and that no girl could handle him. Espio could think of one, being Julie-Su and Mighty objects that she has her sights aimed at Knuckles. Julie-Su is enraged about how Knuckles left her (KTE: 25) and fires her gun at a picture of him at her apartment. She talks to the leftover picture of Knuckles about how he doesn't care about her and how he's not with her now.
Meanwhile, Knuckles and Locke are enjoying breakfast when Knuckles mentions that he is wondering why boys and girls get together. He tells his dad that he feels weird being around Julie-Su and Locke realises that it could be the Soultouch. He explains the Soultouch to Knuckles and that even when echidnas have the Soultouch, they still need to work with their relationship, like with him and Lara-Le. Locke decides to tell Knuckles that he should figure out what to do about his feelings before discussing it more. In Echidnaopolis, Espio decides to bet Vector to ask out a girl and convince her to go on a date with him after he rants about girls. Vector walks off away from them and looks around at the girls when he notices a purple echidna nearby. On the other side of the city, Julie-Su wanders around the city to try and cheer herself up. She notices a model in Foofi's shop window wearing a hat when another echidna appears behind her. Raynor escorts her inside to try on the hat. He manages to sweet talk Julie-Su into trying on the hat and continues to ask her to join him for lunch.
Meanwhile, Knuckles is thinking about Julie-Su when Archimedes teleports in front of him. He asks Archimedes about her and he answers back that he won't get any help from his parents and has to make his own choices. Knuckles decides to find Julie-Su and leaves with him. Vector is still upset about not being able to find a date when he is approached by a waitress of the cafe. Vector immediately falls in love with the swan while in a bistro, Knuckles and Archimedes teleport in the bistro to find Julie-Su with Raynor.
Story Two
- Mighty the Armadillo in "Friend in Need"
At Mighty's den on the Floating Island, Mighty is talking with an unseen figure who asks for his assistance. She brings out a collar, to which Mighty recognizes it as Ray the Flying Squirrel's collar. She introduces herself as Nic the Weasel and tells him that they will find Ray soon if he helps her with her treasure hunt. She takes him in her craft as Mighty remembers his experience in a Slave Labor Camp years ago.
The flashback starts with him observing Ray helping another prisoner while trying not to be scared. Sonic the Hedgehog appears as a prisoner saying that he's got a plan for them to escape. Mighty is unphrased by this since Robotnik didn't take special precautions on him, but Sonic states that he was probably forgotten. He tells them that he's a secret agent to be sent behind enemy lines and jumps off the transport. He races off after yelling that he will be back for them. Nic asks Mighty if there is something wrong, but Mighty answers that he was just thinking. They arrive at their location and head through the landscape when Fiona Fox appears before them. Nic tells Mighty that she will be joining us while he is shocked seeing Fiona alive.
